DESCRIPTION:Sat 14 & Sun 15 Feb 2026\n11am–4pm\nBringing together communities and faiths of Oxfordshire\n\nJoin us as we celebrate the many communities and faiths of Oxfordshire with a dazzling array of activities\, performances\, talks\, and crafts for all ages\, taking place throughout the Museum. \nThis year’s theme for our annual One World Family Festival is Nature. From traditional Chinese and Nepalese dance to eco-pilgrimage lantern-making and Moroccan moon stories\, there’s something for everyone at this fantastic weekend festival. \nAll events are drop-in. Spaces are limited and can fill up at busy times.  \nAs the festival is free\, we welcome families and visitors to consider a suggested donation of £6 to help support the event. \n  \nAccess information\n\nA quiet prayer room will be available from 10am–4pm on both days for rest\, prayer\, personal reflection or meditation.\nThere is British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation for some events on Sat14 Feb\, please see programme for details.\nThe Museum offers level access throughout\, with ramps at the entrance and lifts to all floors. The programme also includes an interactive exploration of North African astronomy through stories of the moon and night sky. \nWith contributions from \n\nAsma Hashmi\nChrist Church Cathedral\nDialogue Society Oxford\nMuzim–Art4Connect\nNatty Mark (African School)\nOVADA\nOxford Chinese Dance Club\nOxford Council of Faiths\nOxford Hindu Temple\nOxford Polish Association\nWeave Yard\n\n\nSunday 15 February 2026\nSunday continues the celebration with a varied programme of music\, dance\, storytelling\, and reflective activities inspired by nature and the seasons. SUMMARY:RUGGED LANDSCAPES OF JOAN EARDLEY WORKSHOP FEB 2026
DESCRIPTION:Wed 4 Feb 2026\, 10.30am–4pm\n\n\n\n\nAt the Museum\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOne-day practical session in the Ashmolean Learning Studio. \nTickets are £105 each. Booking is essential. \nPlease note this workshop (a repeat of the Oct 2025 one) is now also fully booked. \n\nWith artist Kieran Stiles \nOne of Scotland’s most popular artists\, Joan Eardley enhanced three-dimensional forms in the landscapes\, not by depicting them traditionally\, but by thickening the oil paint to make the painting surface three dimensional itself. \n\n \nAbstract landscape in oils by Kieran Stiles\, inspired by Joan Eardley \n\nOnce these textures have been applied\, free flowing washes of diluted oil washes can be poured on top. \nParticipants will have the chance to learn from Kieran Stiles and produce their own textural landscapes inspired by Joan Eardley. \nAll materials will be provided. \nThis event is part of our Connect & Collaborate season of events. \n\nBOOKING\nOne-day practical session in the Ashmolean Learning Studio. \nTickets are £105 for the one-day workshop. \nPlease note this workshop is now fully booked. \nIf you have any questions\, please email us at publicprogrammes@ashmus.ox.ac.uk
