Easy access to the car park. Clear instructions on how to park and ride using the Ringo app. Great pricing. Maximum of 72hours stay. Buses to the town centre are frequent - make sure you download your receipt on the ringo app to show to the driver. A convenient way to explore Oxford if travelling by car. Alternatively, you could park in Westgate Oxford Car Park.

Thornhill Park and Ride: A Stress-Free Gateway to Oxford City For those seeking a hassle-free and affordable way to explore Oxford, Thornhill Park and Ride is a true lifesaver. Leave your car worries behind and hop on the convenient bus service that whisks you directly into the heart of the city. **Here's why Thornhill Park and Ride shines:** * **Cost-Effective:** Parking rates are significantly cheaper than Oxford City's often-crowded and pricey car parks. * **Stress-Free:** Forget about circling for a parking spot or navigating busy city streets. The park and ride offers a relaxing start to your day. * **Convenient Connections:** Buses run frequently and directly to the city center, ensuring a quick and comfortable journey. * **Ticket Flexibility:** Choose from various ticket options that include both parking and bus travel, catering to your group size. **Minor Points to Consider:** * **Limited Parking:** While the park and ride is a great solution, it may reach capacity during peak times. It's best to arrive early or check for real-time availability. * **Bus Timetables:** Be sure to check the bus timetables to avoid any unexpected delays or missed connections.

Used today to meet friends in Oxford. We parked our car at Thornhill for £2.50, this parking ticket then gave us free access to the bus in and out of Oxford. The buses were frequent, every 10 minutes, busy but OK. The free bus ride we believe is an incentive whilst the temporary congestion charge is on trial. Certainly impressed with the ease of the journey.

Used the facility on a Sunday, busy, but not insane. A great way to access Oxford. I already use the Parking App so I was geared up to go, charges are confusing- outbound there was a conductor who checked the App and was happy, on the return the driver felt there was more to pay, admitted it was confusing but was very helpful and for an additional £2.50 we returned. No problem. It was a very cost effective and stress free way of accessing Oxford. Facilities (cafe, toilets, waiting room) were an example to other Park and Rides eg Shrewsbury and Salisbury which fall very far short of this standard.

Torn on this - it's very cheap compared to driving in to the city, but is completely incomprehensible. They couldn't possibly make it less clear or more confusing what to do. Signs outside direct you to the "free park and ride". You pull up to park, and RingGo signs everywhere tell you one code to park, and another to park and use the bus. Wrestled with the app for five minutes (not the fault of this place), only to be told when using the code for parking and bussing that "the zone is closed". The other code costs £4.70. So we walked to the bus terminal in the centre, and after some cajoling the ticket machines offered a parking ticket for £2.50. Bought one of these, as while it's not free it's less than £4.70. Now to find a bus - after some searching, we find an electronic timetable that tells us that there will be a bus in 2 minutes from stand "1". We look at the stands, and they are lettered - "A", "B", "C" and "D". Two minutes came and went, no sign of any bus, and the entry disappears from the board. After a few more minutes, a bus with "Oxford" written on it turns up, so we ask the driver - he points out another bus just turning up which is a park and ride bus. Signs all over it describe how you can show your RingGo app to get a free ride. We have the paper ticket. Nevertheless, the bus driver was very nice and gave us a ticket. So we got to park and get in to Oxford for £2.50, and the bus drivers were nice, but it was stressful and very poorly arranged.
