SUMMARY:If mindfulness is a doorway\, what’s on the other side?
DESCRIPTION:An exploration of how we can connect our view of everyday life with something deeper and more expansive \n\n\n\n\nIf mindfulness is a doorway\, what’s on the other side? \nCome join us for an enlightening workshop at The Abbey\, Sutton Courtenay where we explore the depths of mindfulness. Peter Yiangou will guide a three-part series exploring what lies “on the other side” — and how this inquiry can deepen our understanding of happiness\, awareness\, and personal growth. \n\n\n\n\nWorkshop Focus \nMindfulness is the simple practice of returning our attention to the present moment with care and curiosity. It helps us appreciate life as it is\, meeting its ups and downs with resilience and balance. \nBut what if mindfulness is more than a tool for managing stress? \nWhat if it’s a doorway — inviting us into a deeper\, richer dimension of experience? \nAcross these sessions we’ll explore: \n· How mindfulness helps us recognise and release unhelpful mental habits \n· What it means to live with a sense of connection and wholeness \n· How mindful awareness can open into the wisdom of contemplative traditions \n· Finding the meeting point between the ordinary and the sacred. \nEach workshop will include short guided practices\, reflective discussion\, and readings from a range of sources. \nAbout Peter \nPeter worked as an architect from 1980 to 2019\, leading an award-winning practice. \nHe has been closely involved with Beshara courses since the 1970s — attending retreats at Chisholme House\, serving as Chair of the Beshara Trust in the 1980s\, and later facilitating courses and retreats in the UK and internationally. \nFrom 2012 onwards\, he studied with non-dual teacher Adyashanti in the UK and US. \nSince 2015 he has trained and taught with the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation\, where he now serves as Chair and helped establish the endowed Chair in Mindfulness at the University of Oxford. \n£16.96
